Certified Tutor
Hi! I'm Eric Thibodeau. As a teacher and tutor I believe strongly in these core principles:
1) Flexibility and patience- I adjust my l teaching techniques to meet the learning styles of each individual student, providing a fun and welcoming environment.
2) Listening- I take extra time to really understand each student's learning objectives.
3) Sharing my own life experiences and using real world examples- I enjoying making learning more fun and less stressful by sharing my own history and connecting challenging topics to interesting, real life situations.
4) Being a collaborator- I view being a tutor as a partnership, not a replacement for a teacher. I help supplement and enhance what you're already working on with out the pressure of performing well in front of a teacher.
5) Learning to learn- An important goal of mine is to help students become more proficient independent learners. I focus on tutoring specific topics while simultaneously providing useful 'learning-hacks'.
I have a PhD in child/developmental psychology. I study and teach courses on how behaviors, emotions, and cognitions develop from infancy through adulthood. I enjoy using advanced data analytics to uncover the mysteries of human development. With over 10 years of experience, I'm passionate about helping students, from high school through graduate school, learn fascinating and fun topics in psychology and statistics.
