Caroline: Bergen County tutor
Certified Tutor
I'm a graduate of the Head-Royce School, a rigorous private school located in Oakland, CA. Currently, I'm studying Neuroscience with a double minor in psychology and computer science at Boston College.
During high school, I volunteered as an English tutor at a low-income elementary school through the program Reading Partners; this program's focus is to help students who are reading below their grade level. I also volunteered as a TA with Behavioral Intervention for Autism. There I worked on social skills with a group of 1st-5th graders who have autism. Though I have the most official experience tutoring elementary English, I also have experience with thorough essay editing (at a high-school/middle-school level). I'm most passionate about tutoring Math and English. As a tutor, I'm very reliable, and you can count on me to be punctual, creative, enthusiastic, supportive, and committed to helping your student succeed. I'm passionate about tutoring because I love seeing students increase their skills and build confidence! I've had tutors myself, and this has helped me learn how to make a tutoring session effective, engaging and fun! Outside of academics, I love to travel, run, bake, and spend time with the people I love!

Lately, I've been enjoying walking and training my puppy, baking banana bread, going on hikes, reading, exercising, and online shopping! Before the pandemic, I also loved going to the beach with my friends, going to concerts, and traveling. Academically, I plan to study neuroscience and psychology in college, and I'm very interested in working in cognitive rehabilitation later in life!
