I am very passionate about learning and education beacuase they are critical pieces in the process of building individual empowerment and a more equitable world. I am an incoming junior at the University of Washington studying English and Psychology (intended) and I absolutely love teaching and helping others understand these particular subjects. All of my past jobs have required me to work with people, weather that be babysitting, hospitality positions, or as a student coach. These past positions have taught me how to welcome and support people in ways that meet their specific needs. Both in high school and middle school, I was a volleyball coach, and in a way, took on the role of an athletic tutor. This title involved helping organize practices and providing one on one coaching and encouragement to aspiring volleyball athletes.
I know it may be an overused sentiment, but knowledge really is power, and as a tutor, I want nothing more than to not only help students understand their course material, but to discover their strength in overcoming learning obstacles. I meet students where they are and try my absolute best to make learning a fun and enriching experience. Everyone has something to bring to the table, and I want students to feel comfortable and confident in their abilities, knowing that learning is an ongoing process.

I absolutely love to try new things, but my all time favorite pastimes would have to be making music/ singing and improv! I am part of the University of Washington's only improv troupe, The Collective, as well as a member of a student run musical theater club called Stage Notes. Creative spaces are essential to my fulfillment and have introduced me to some of the most kind and talented people I know!
