I am very happy with our experience so far with Varsity Tutors. They matched my daughter with reading specialist Mary and she is wonderful! My 10 year old daughter feels happy after her sessions and believes her tutor has already helped her.

Learning is only beneficial so long as you understand and apply the knowledge. I am committed to ensuring that the time you are spending learning is not wasted, and you find a way to truly engage and understand the material.

Currently, I am a Neuroscience and Journalism major at Case Western Reserve University with an Economics minor. Outside of my academics, I enjoy playing volleyball and running, baking, and writing. I am a featured writer at The Borgen Project, and I have a personal website, inConsequential.

My tutoring experiences started when I was a sophomore in high school at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy. I worked with middle schoolers at a nearby after-school camp, helping them with various subjects such as math, the humanities, and the arts. I worked with one student once a week for the whole year, so I developed a personal relationship and found that watching my student grow from session-to-session was one of the most rewarding feelings.

Throughout the remainder of my high school years, I have continued tutoring middle school students, and I have worked with other high schoolers to help them in subjects such as math, science, and writing. I was both a peer tutor and a writing tutor, so I gained plenty of experience in teaching with various styles and adapting my methods to best fit the students' needs. Throughout my years, I have seen my students succeed in whichever aspect they choose to be tutored in, and as someone who is committed to providing students the best use of their time, I always ask for feedback to make sure my students are getting what they want.
