Certified Tutor

I hold degrees from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and the MFA Program for Poets and Writers at UMass. My stories and poems have appeared in Hobart, Copper Nickel, and ILK, among others. I teach writing at Westfield State University and am the Assistant Director of the Reading and Writing Center. As a teacher and tutor, my focus is on working with students individually, finding what works for them and what doesn't, so that they can achieve greater success on their own. I take a task based approach to tutoring, helping students develop skills and strategies that work for them through constant, directed practice.
