I earned my B.A. in physics from Berea College and M.S. in physics and Ph.D. in physics from the University of Central Florida. After graduating, I obtained a position at the National Institute of Standards and Technology to deepen my understanding of the physics of silicon-based single-electron devices for quantum computing and a quantum standard of electric current. While I can tutor a broad range of subjects in physics and math, I am passionate about physics, college physics, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, pre-algebra, and algebra. My teaching pedagogy is to instruct students with hands-on practice. This hands-on practice involves solving relevant problems to help with completing homework assignments. During my experiences helping students to successfully understand challenging topics in physics and math, I enjoyed seeing students have fun once we covered the necessary steps to solve the problems.
