Certified Tutor

I am a graduate of Clemson University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Special Education. I am certified in Special Education (K-12), Elementary Education, and also have a literacy endorsement. I am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Severe Disabilities at Vanderbilt University. Since graduation, I have been teaching and tutoring children of all ages and backgrounds in Nashville, TN. I am passionate about helping students of all ability levels. I am a firm believer in education and the power of the teacher student relationship. I believe that as a teacher my role is to presume competence in every child. This means that I promise to assume that every child is capable of learning and has the desire to do so. Not only will I assume they are capable of learning, but I will also assume they are capable of succeeding. The idea of teaching students the way they learn also means being open minded and understanding that what works for one child will not work for every child. Most critically, I believe that it is important for me to never lose my passion and love for teaching as teachers who love teaching raise the most students who love to learn!
