I have been a special education teacher for 25 years. I have a BS + 36 in Special Education. I have a 100% graduation rate for high school students. I have worked with all types of disabilities. For most of my career, I have worked with middle school and high school students. I have provided support to students in all subject areas. I have worked with students in all mild disability labels. I was the Autism Spectrum Disorder specialist for the coop I worked for.

I became a special education teacher because my youngest daughter was born with a physical disability and later was found to have a specific learning disability. I work to help students find the best way they learn. I have worked with many reading programs since most students with a learning disability struggle in reading. I feel that vocabulary is the key to making sure that students improve their reading level. Every student can learn but we must find the correct style that works best for them. Leveling the playing field is key to students success.
