Miranda: Long Island City tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a recent graduate of The University of South Florida. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Sociology and Behavioral Healthcare. Since graduation, I have had several internships that have involved working with children and adolescents in a variety of contexts. Most notably, I have worked with children in a foster care facility as their informal tutor, and even helped to start an interactive, after school book club for those students that were struggling to perform on grade level. While I take great joy in tutoring students in a number of subjects, I am most passionate about Psychology, English, and Literature. I strongly support the acquisition of knowledge, as I believe it to be a critical component to success in life and a soul-enriching experience. The importance of education, exploring academic curiosities, and expanding upon areas of interest, are all things that I try to encourage and emphasize with the students I work with. In my spare time, I enjoy exploring state parks with my dog, studying unfamiliar works of literature, and attempting to master the art of cooking.
