Certified Tutor

I am currently an undergraduate student studying at NYU Stern School of Business, concentrating in Finance and Data Science. I have a high school diploma from a public school in Princeton, NJ. I have previously worked as a tutor at the Kumon Learning Center for almost 4 years, and I volunteered as a tutor in my high school as well. I tutor Mandarin, K-12 Math and Reading, as well as history and sciences. My favorite subjects to tutor are Mandarin and math, because I love the language, and I love the objectivity of math. My teaching style is to try to understand the perspective of the student and where they are getting confused, so I can more effectively explain the concepts. I also like to focus on teaching an understanding of the subject instead of just pure memorization, because I think that is the best way to actually learn and remember. Some things that I am interested in outside of academia include hiking, traveling to new places, trying out new restaurants, reading, playing the piano, and solving puzzles. I love meeting and helping people, and I think even as a tutor, I can learn a lot from the tutees. I look forward to sharing my knowledge with you!
