My interest in teaching dates back to my years as a child in elementary school, when I used to teach my dolls who were my "students". I began to realize that I retained much more information and facts that way than when I tried to just read and retain the information. In high school, I excelled in English comprehension, reading and writing.

As I got older and reached high school, I began to coach and mentor junior level students. I found these sessions exhilarating and rewarding. Since then, I try to use every opportunity I have to share my knowledge and try to learn something new every day.

I have had notable success teaching at a Community College and as a teacher it is very important to me that my students make connections and have positive experiences from our interactions.

Teaching inspires and energizes me, and I want to devote my time to
working with students and helping them to develop, express, and exchange ideas. I am inspired to extend educational opportunities to students from diverse
backgrounds, including first generation college students, ESL and international students. I would be honored to be part of the journey with Varsity Tutors.
