I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2013 (Go Dawgs!) with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and German Language and Culture. I love languages and cultures and people and I believe that all humans, while uniquely diverse, share more similarities than differences; our similarities join us together and our differences strengthen our journey to build a better world and a brighter future. This belief has inspired my career path since college after which I moved to Knoxville, Tennessee to serve with AmeriCorps. Through my job at Beardsley Community Farm I worked with students of all ages and taught nutrition and cooking classes. Learning to tailor my lessons to be informative, engaging and fun challenged me as a teacher and caused me to grow. Those lessons took me to Vienna, Austria, and Kupang, Indonesia where I taught college and high school students and learned to overcome cultural difference and language barriers to create comprehensive, understandable lesson plans. This diverse range of skills acquired over the last 4 years working with students of all ages has solidified my burgeoning desire to eventually pursue a career in International Education Policy. Before I begin my graduate studies I want to gain as much education experience in as many diverse settings as I can while learning as much about teaching methods, languages, cultures, and humanity as possible along the way - this includes connected with students online. In my free time, I like to read, cook, run and spend time with my adorable nieces, Addison and Caroline.
