I am an Electrical Engineer by profession, and a teacher/mentor by passion. My hobbies are Dancing, Reading, playing Chess and teaching. I loved teaching since I was a first grader. My very first student was my little brother, who decided to continue with my tutoring from Kindergarten thru his undergraduate. Besides him, I have about 12 years of one-on-one tutoring experience.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Getting the homework done is not everything. I personally believe getting the concepts clear can actually help one do the homework on their own. My teaching philosophy is to work and focus on the concepts.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
The first session is mostly about knowing each other. If a tutor does not understand a student's style, perspective, understanding, methodologies, techniques and current skills, the tutoring sessions henceforth are not very effective and efficient.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
Having clear concepts can help a student become an independent learner.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
This is relative. Some enjoy challenges, while others get demotivated with challenges. So, understanding the student style and approach is very important. Students are either motivated by challenging problems or by solving more problems from their comfort zone.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
Fun techniques can help learning difficult concepts and makes it easy to remember.
