Certified Tutor

My journey to discovery for tutoring came during my high school years. I have been known for my strength in math. I was able to use my skill set to tutor many friends in school. It was during this time where I discovered that I had a passion to see others succeed. This has carried on into my college years where I have grown beyond math and found an endearing passion for business. I have used my skill set to tutor student in economics, finance, and accounting. I have now focused my attention on finance where I have taken this on as my major. I personally strive to see every student become successful and am very proud that I can be part of another person's success.
I also like to keep my mind and body active will I am not directly involved in education. Outside of tutoring I enjoy staying up to date with Bloomberg, researching stocks, engage in various puzzles, jogging, and listening to music.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I feel that every student has potential to accomplish something amazing in this world. I will help students to bring out their inner talents by pushing the students to their fullest potential. I have a vision in this world where every single mind can achieve great things.

What might you do in a typical first session with a student?

During the first tutor session, I would like to get to know the student. I would like to know their strength, weakness, and their opportunities. I would find out what style of learning he or she does best at and use that style to teach the student.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

One successful way that I have found to keep students motivated is to help the student set goals for themselves. By using long term, short term, and even intermediate goals, a student can achieve success with their goals in a timely manner.

What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?

A common technique I use to test comprehension of the material is by giving a student similar questions to the subject and asking the student to give me a step by step analysis to completing the problem.
