I am a law student, but I took an unusual route to get there. I used to attend medical school but had a change of heart in my career path. Part of this was due to my political science major (double major with biology) in college as well as a number of Spanish and other courses that I took. Tutoring ...

Anatomy & Physiology Tutor • +5 Subjects

I am currently studying Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, Florida, where I have just finished my sophomore year. After graduation, I hope to attend medical school, and one day become a physician. For over a year, I have been tutoring my peers in chemistry and anatomy & physiology through a peer tutoring program at my university. My favorite subject to tutor is by far chemistry, because it is extremely rewarding to help a student understand a difficult concept and then watch them be able to work though problems and apply those concepts on their own. I believe that students can only succeed if they understand the purpose of what they are learning, so I always make it a point to explain the "why" behind important concepts and ideas. This way, the student can develop a strong foundation of knowledge and can become more confident in their understanding of the subject. In my free time, I enjoy working out, reading exciting novels, and exploring my home city of Miami, Florida.

I graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in May 2018. I am Pre-Med but majored in Romance Languages and Literatures. I was born in Colombia and speak Spanish at home. I studied abroad in France junior year of high school and in Chile junior year of college, and my experience abroad really strengthened my passion for languages and other cultures. The subjects that I feel strongest about are subjects where I have had teachers or professors who have been passionate about their subject and have allowed that passion to influence my own life; often times for me that has been my French and Spanish professors and my Biology professors. I hope to motivate students to try their best and enjoy learning the subject, regardless of whether they struggle with the subject or have other academic interests. I would also love to help students prepare for the college application process, either with standardized test tutoring or helping them edit college application essays. I am here to help the students in whatever areas they may need!

With 10+ years of teaching experience in the humanities, social sciences, and language arts, I am strongly qualified to help you with understanding culture, brushing up on history, and with learning and mastering a new language. I received my B.A. in philosophy from Florida International University in 2009, and I'm currently working on completing my graduate degree in the same field from the University of Miami. In 2012, I I was made James Madison Cuban Fellow at Georgetown University, in Washington D.C. This fellowship is awarded annually to the best secondary-level social studies teachers in the country. The following year, I delivered a paper on philosophy & crisis at the World Philosophy Congress in Athens, Greece. As a philosopher, I believe that a robust civil discourse is imperative to maintaining a strong democracy. Therefore, this must obviously begin with a good education. Outside of my academic interests, I enjoy traveling, listening to music, talking about current events, and meeting new and interesting people.

I am a graduate of Miami Dade College. I am currently working on my Bachelor of Science on Engineering. Since High School, I've been tutoring friends and family whenever needed. I generally tutor math related subjects and sciences too. Math is my favorite subject to teach because I like the fact that you can come up with the answer with more than one procedure. I'd say that in order to learn math, one must practice. If the subject is not well known, the more reason to practice; if the subject is known, then the problems will be solved fast.

I obtained a Bachelors in Science with a major in psychology from Barry University in 2012. After college, I took one year to travel abroad and experience different cultures around the world. I have always had a passion for learning and for imparting my knowledge onto other individuals. I took this opportunity to enhance my interpersonal skills and cultural knowledge. During my college years I became a private tutor for different subjects such as elementary math, algebra, SSAT prep, reading and writing among others. I taught various students ranging from 1st grade to seniors in high school. I took great pleasure in seeing my students progress throughout their academic years. I consider my teaching style to be very flexible as I like to allow my students' personality and strengths to mold my style. Moreover, I am an advocate of individualized learning as every child is different and unique in their own way. I have worked as a case manager for the past 2 years with children ages 5 to 18 where I provided social services and assistance to improve their social, psychological, and educational functioning. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, playing and watching sports such as soccer, and reading comics and novels.
