Elana: Bergen County tutor
Certified Tutor
I received my Bachelor's degree from the University of Florida, my Master's degree from George Washington University, and my foreign language teaching certificate from the University of Pittsburgh. I am a full-time middle school Spanish teacher and an adjunct Spanish professor at a community college. In addition to teaching middle school and college students, I have experience with preschoolers, elementary school-aged children, and high school students. I find each age rewarding and challenging, whether my students are just learning the Spanish alphabet and songs or they are honing their higher-level conversational skills. I love to travel and have traveled throughout Western Europe and North America. My favorite destinations are Spanish-speaking places where I can enjoy the richness and beauty of the food, culture, people and language--- Mexico, Guatemala, Spain, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. When tutoring a client, I believe it is important to understand his or her background, learning style and specific goals. We all learn differently and at different paces. I tailor my lessons accordingly, so that together we can be successful.
