I received my B.A. (Honors) in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin while on Fulbright scholarship. I then obtained a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the same university and moved on to do a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Maryland. I moved back to my home country Cyprus and did a second postdoctoral fellowship on cancer at a research institute there. I was then hired as a lecturer at public and private Universities teaching Biochemistry, General Chemistry, Molecular Biology and General Biology for college students. I can also teach Genetics, Cell Biology, Microbiology as well as Physical Science. My favorite subjects, however, are Biochemistry, General Biology and Genetics as those were the subjects I have been teaching the longest. Two years after becoming a tenured Associate Professor of Biochemistry in my home country I have moved with my family back to the U.S. in search for a better education and better future for our children. I believe a good education is the most invaluable gift we can give our children and I hope that my teaching can have a significant impact on my students' lives. What is most wonderful about teaching to me, however, is how tremendously rewarding a profession it is. In my free time I enjoy reading, exercising and playing soccer with my two boys.
