We did more review of integration techniques and applications. I wanted him to try out different techniques for finding solids of revolution. We did review of surfaces of revolution as well.

The student has an upcoming exam on Chapter 8: Sequences and Series. She had a review sheet so she worked on the problems and I checked to make sure she understood the concepts.

This week we covered the hyperbolic trigonometric functions. The student has a project that is extra credit with these functions. We went over the basic derivatives, how this applied to the chain rule and what the functions were in general. We talked about how to use online calculators to check work and to understand if an answer is reasonable. Additionally, we discussed the class in general. It seems that the class is going very well right now and I have seen major improvement.

In this session, the student and I focused mainly on the concept of forces. We discussed how weight is actually a measure of force and the difference between mass and force. I showed her some useful tricks with units and how to use them to verify your answers are correct. We spent a lot of time on the concept of normal force and how it is calculated. I'm very happy with her progress with trigonometry, and her ability to use it comfortably to solve problems.

We had a great session today! We reviewed how to say the date, day, year, and month. We worked on a crossword puzzle with French kinship terms (friend, father, sister, brother, etc.). Then we did a fun activity...a My Little Pony wood sticker puzzle that required understanding numbers in French as direction as to where to put the sticker. The student did a great job. She uses her knowledge of Spanish, and has been practicing her French to help her excel during activities. Great work!

The student had some tests recently that she was studying for, but now we are on to a different unit. This deals with more geometry, probability, and trigonometry. She has handled it well. We had a good review of areas and distributions.
