I am a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing pursuing my Master of Science in Nursing. I obtained my BA from Messiah University in Criminal Justice but shortly after graduating in 2016 I enrolled into an EMT certification program and began working on an ambulance in 2017.

I am a junior at Brown University pursuing a degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. After I graduate, I intend to enroll in an MD/PhD program in bioethics or health policy. In the past, I have tutored students between ages 10 and 19 in Political Science, Algebra II/Trigonometry, English as a Second Language, and sixth grade English and Math. I decided to become a tutor because my math tutor (from 8th-12th grades) took me from hating math to enjoying and succeeding in it. I want to help others make that same transition--a bad teacher or tough class can crush a student's innate curiosity, but a good tutor can restore it.

I am pursuing my Bachelor's at Trinity International University in Biblical Studies. That being said my most comfortable subject to tutor is math. I am a licensed EMT in Illinois and have worked in an Emergency Department with a Level 1 Trauma Center for a year. I have counseled Jr. high and high school students at summer camps and at a local youth group for two years, and I have tutored students non-professionally and by teachers' recommendations since high school. In my free time I play the piano, ukulele, and sing. I also join and form book clubs to discuss philosophy, theology, and Koine Greek, but I am always up for a pick-up game of basketball.

I am able to personalize my tutoring sessions to cater to any student. I am currently applying to medical school for the 2017 cycle. In my free time, I love to volunteer as an EMT, hike with my dogs, and see live music.

In addition, I am a nationally certified and state certified Emergency Medical Technician and work sporadically throughout the year. For the last few years I have been working as a tutor in a variety of subjects, mentoring students both in Washington, D.C. and my home state of New Jersey. Because of my educational background that combines the rigorous science of the pre-med curriculum and the myriad fields included in management and policy analysis, I can not only tutor several subjects, but also relate new or difficult topics to my students preexisting knowledge to improve understanding and conceptualization of the material. I have found that, with discipline and consistent effort, students are able to attain complete mastery of subjects they previously struggled with. Consequently, while the material itself is important, I also work with my students to develop productive routines and build consistency in their personal studying habits.
