I graduated Harvard in May 2012. I received an A.B. in History--my studies were all over the place geographically and temporally, but I did the most work in medieval Europe and the Near East. Since graduation, I've lived in the Bay Area, Philadelphia, and now in Boston. I've tutored at every stop, principally in standardized test prep. I also tutored my fellow history undergrads at Harvard, and juvenile offenders in Boston, so I've seen a fairly wide range of students. I can and do tutor a very broad range of subjects, but I'm happiest tutoring history, the GRE, and the SAT--the first because I've loved it since I could read, and the latter two because I think they are highly solvable and I want to make sure students get a chance to learn how to solve them. I'm a firm believer in tutoring in the style of a conversation. Obviously I'm imparting knowledge, but I don't want to lecture and I don't want to be boring, so I try to make it as natural as possible--which does mean I make my fair share of jokes. In my spare time, I'm a huge sports fan (of the Red Sox, Celtics, Broncos, and Canadiens, in that order), an avid PC gamer, a decent squash player, and a baritone.

I am currently a sophomore at Bryn Mawr College. In the 8th grade, due to my exceptional performance in my advanced math class, I was offered the opportunity to tutor for extra credit. Since then, I have enjoyed tutoring and teaching others in a variety of subjects in grade levels PreK-11th for volunteer work and in paid settings. In high school, I took advantage of tutoring opportunities through my membership in Math, English, and National Honor Societies, and National Beta Club. I am working towards a Bachelors degree in Political Science and am also studying Middle Eastern Studies. While I hope to eventually pursue a Juris Doctris, education is a passion I would like to stay involved in throughout my career. I have worked with students of all ages inside and outside of school settings. I interned at the Fairmount Water Works where I assisted in an educational capacity. I tutor in Math, Social Studies, and Social Sciences. For a complete list, check out my subject list below. My favorite subject to tutor is math as there are many different ways I can explore with my students as to how to approach the problem in a way that makes sense to them. Math, especially, requires a lot of patience and it's incredibly rewarding to watch a student become proficient in a skill set they once thought impossible. My teaching philosophy and tutoring style emphasize that students learn in a variety of ways and one must first recognize where each individual student is coming from in terms of learning style and resources before attempting to address the academia. Outside of academia, I am very passionate about acting and social justice. Both of these interests, I believe, help me greatly in connecting with my students and supporting their learning. I have clearances available at your request. I was accepted to such prestigious institutions as NYU and the University of Richmond among others. I hold several leadership positions in my school community including president of pre-law society and Access Services coordinator. I look forward to working with your child!

I am a graduate of Abilene Christian University, where I received a Bachelor's in Nursing Science. Since becoming an RN I have practiced nursing in multiple states at faculties like Vanderbilt and UNC. I have worked in variety of different nursing specialties such as ICU, Burn (Adult and Pediatric), Transplant, Cardiac Care and Neurology. I also completed 140 hours of NICU training. One of my favorite parts of being a nurse has been the opportunity to precept, mentor and prepare new nurses and nursing students for this awesome profession. My interest in the sciences became insatiable in high school as I tackled my first Anatomy and Physiology class, and led me to further my education in courses such as Advanced Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Microbiology, Biology, and Health Science. After being accepted to nursing school I focused on Pharmacology, Ethical Nursing, Medical Surgical Concepts, Critical Care Concepts, Pathophysiology and more. I have extensive knowledge of NCLEX preparation and remember fondly the days spent studying in perpetuity to do well on the exam.I think two of the most important parts of learning are foundational knowledge and confidence in yourself. Often times they go hand in hand and I like to build on both of those skills as we master any content :)
