I am a Junior studying Chemical Engineering at Purdue University - West Lafayette (main campus). I have been a go-to person for academic questions among my friends and study groups, and I have helped quite a few of them getting a grade level better in a variety of classes. I am the most passionate about math, chemistry, and physics. My goal in tutoring is to help a student in finding their interest/passion in a subject and to show them methods and the logic behind solving problems and daily applications. I am a native Philadelphian but received my undergraduate degree from York University in Toronto, Canada. After receiving my undergraduate degree I moved to Bangkok, Thailand to teach English at a private bilingual school. I worked as an ESL instructor, Kindergarten teacher, private tutoring instructor, and Kindergarten department head during my four years in Thailand. Outside of my normal duties of being a homeroom teacher or administrator at the private school I worked at, I also tutored English and basic Math to young students in their homes around Bangkok. I love tutoring because not only is it rewarding to help someone academically, it helps me as a teacher understand a range of student needs that may be overlooked in the big classroom. I enjoy working with students of all ages and have experience working with elementary students assisting in phonics, reading, writing, and arithmetic development as well as English language development for second language learners in college or for business purposes. I am currently attending Wagner College as a Graduate student in Childhood & Special Education and am a graduate assistant for the Early Childhood Center of Wagner College. In my free time, I love exploring New York city, writing and reading poetry/spoken word at open mic nights, and am currently working on my own independent children's music album.

After graduation, because of my love of reading, writing, and books, I decided to pursue a career in publishing. I am currently working at one of the largest publishing houses in the world in the Editorial Department. There, I lightly edit books, interact with authors, and write all the book jacket and back cover copy for books and journals. . My real world experience and my keen eye for words gives me good insight when tutoring students. I believe that education is very important and can add to a persons success. I enjoy helping people and always explain things in a way where one can look at content in a completely new way while still gaining understanding of the material. In my spare time, I love to sit down with a good book, write, and cook. I'm also very passionate about fashion and clothing. I run my own personal website where I document "office-friendly" attire and offer my readers tips on what they should wear to work. She graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University with a degree in English Literature and Theatre, with a concentration in Theatre for Young Audiences. You can find a portion of her honors thesis on Virginia Woolf's last novel published in the next issue of the Madison Journal of Literary Criticism! Grace loves working with young people and has been teaching drama and tutoring students in writing and test prep for the past five years. In college, one of her favorite activities was volunteering as a teaching artist with Seesaw Theatre, a company she helped found that creates multi-sensory theatrical experiences for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has experience working with students ages 5-18 and with individuals of varying abilities.

I've also done public media work and been on the radio and TV. Some of the highlights of my career has been to use these experiences to help kids in need and help other people learn to write and communicate in a way to help other families and kids in need, too. For music, I've been playing the saxophone since elementary school. I love finding new ways to be creative and have conducted jazz ensembles in college as well as a musical. I've written music and love helping other students learn music theory. My true passion is in helping people learn to play the saxophone. I play in concert bands in Massachusetts and love finding ways to continue to help new players continue to learn. In fact, I still call my old teachers to help me when I want to grow more and am currently learning a new instrument the classical guitar.
