Hi, I'm Susie! I've been an educator for over 30 years as a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, and instructional coach and I've spent my career helping students become confident readers, writers, and learners. I work with students on reading, literacy, and science skills at every level: young readers learning to decode, middle schoolers building comprehension and writing skills, and students preparing for tests. I'm a two-time National Board Certified teacher with certifications in Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, and other proven, evidence-based reading methods, such as EBLI. My philosophy is simple: every student can learn to read and write well they just need instruction that matches how their brain works. Sessions with me are active, encouraging, and focused, because confidence is half the battle. I especially love working with students who've started to believe they're "just not a reader." I've watched hundreds of kids prove that wrong and I'd love to help your student do the same. Let's get started!
