About Me

My path into education wasn't a straight line it grew naturally out of a deep curiosity about the human body and a realization, early on, that I genuinely loved helping others understand it too. With a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences and years of experience spanning graduate-level teaching, health coaching, and functional medicine, I've come to see education not just as the transfer of information, but as the process of helping someone build a new relationship with a subject one where confusion gives way to clarity and eventually, confidence. These are subjects that can feel overwhelming in their complexity, but they are also deeply logical and, once the underlying principles click, genuinely fascinating. That moment when a student's understanding shifts when something that felt impossible suddenly makes sense is what keeps me invested in this work. My approach to tutoring is tailored and student-centered. I don't assume that every learner struggles for the same reason or benefits from the same explanation. Before diving into content, I take time to understand where a student is, what gaps exist, and what kind of support will be most useful. I've worked with learners across a wide range of levels and backgrounds, and that experience has reinforced for me that patience, adaptability, and genuine engagement are just as important as subject-matter expertise. I also bring a practical, application-oriented lens to everything I teach. My background in clinical and health coaching settings means I'm accustomed to translating complex science into something meaningful and usable a skill that translates directly into tutoring, where the goal is never just to pass a test, but to genuinely understand the material. I am committed to showing up consistently, communicating clearly, and supporting each student in reaching their own goals whether that means passing a difficult exam, strengthening a foundational understanding, or building the academic confidence to take on more advanced work.

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of my professional work, I am someone who learns best through movement and experience. I have a deep love for being in nature — hiking, spending time around horses, and anything that gets me out of a screen and into the physical world. These aren't just hobbies for me; they reflect a broader philosophy that the body and mind work best when they're engaged together. I'm also genuinely drawn to the intersection of science and self-understanding — I read widely across topics like nervous system health, Jungian psychology, and the science of human behavior, which keeps my thinking fresh and often finds its way into how I explain complex concepts to students. At home, I enjoy creative and hands-on projects — from arts and crafts to organizing and building things from scratch. I find that the same problem-solving mindset I bring to those projects shows up in tutoring too: figuring out what's not working, trying a different approach, and finding satisfaction in the result.
