About Me

I am an experienced NYC and Chicago Public Schools Social Studies teacher. I am also currently teaching math. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Social Studies Education and History from Syracuse University summa cum laude and completed my Master's in Social Sciences at the University of Chicago. I hold Illinois and New York State teaching licenses in Social Science (Grades 5-12), with endorsements in History, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Geography, Sociology, and Anthropology. During my time at the University of Chicago, I worked as a tutor in the Office of Special Programs for High School Students, where I supported students in AP English preparation, essay writing, and social studies coursework. This experience strengthened my ability to help students develop critical thinking, analytical writing, and effective study skills. I am passionate about helping students build confidence and reach their academic goals through personalized, one-on-one support. In my tutoring sessions, I focus on identifying each student's individual strengths and areas for growth in order to create targeted strategies that improve understanding, organization, and study habits. I work closely with students to strengthen reading comprehension, writing, critical thinking, and test-taking skills while making learning engaging and approachable. My experience working with diverse learners allows me to adapt lessons to different learning styles, academic needs, and language backgrounds so that every student feels supported and capable of success.
