About Me

My passion for tutoring has grown from helping students gain confidence in academic subjects that can be intimidating to many. I served as a Writing and Communication Center Consultant at Nova Southeastern University. As a writing tutor, I provided one-on-one instruction to help students develop their writing, organizational, and communication skills. In this role, I helped students craft stronger thesis statements, improve the format of their written assignments, and organize their thoughts. I also helped them express themselves more effectively. Through this position, I learned to deliver constructive feedback in a supportive manner and to adapt to each student's unique needs and learning styles. In conjunction with my writing tutoring experience, I have worked as a Laboratory Assistant in General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry. Both positions have allowed me to help students understand challenging coursework by explaining laboratory techniques, demonstrating the application of chemistry concepts, and connecting classroom material to practical laboratory experimentation. The combined experience of teaching both General and Organic Chemistry laboratories has enhanced my ability to clarify complex content, guide students through problem-solving processes, and remain patient when working with students who struggle with difficult concepts. The culmination of my experiences has shaped my philosophy on tutoring. Effective tutoring requires more than knowledge of the subject matter; it also requires patience, communication, flexibility, and the ability to create a comfortable atmosphere where students feel safe asking questions. My ultimate goal is to reach out to students wherever they may be, break down complex information into smaller, easily digestible segments, and foster confidence in a student's ability to learn. I look forward to the opportunity to provide tutoring services to students at Varsity Tutors. I find joy in assisting students in their academic and personal development. Whether I am assisting a student in writing, chemistry, biology, or study skills, I aim to establish a positive learning environment that fosters self-confidence, capability, and success.
