Hi! My name is Jose, and I'm a recent graduate of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where I will soon begin my Internal Medicine residency training at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Throughout medical school, I developed a passion not only for medicine, but also for teaching and mentoring students pursuing careers in healthcare. Over the years, I have helped pre-medical students with medical school applications, personal statements, interview preparation, and academic strategy, in addition to tutoring students in biology, biochemistry, physiology, and medical sciences. As a tutor, my goal is not just to help students memorize information, but to truly understand concepts in a way that builds confidence and long-term success. I focus on breaking down difficult topics into clear, manageable steps while adapting my teaching style to each student's individual learning needs. In addition to my academic background, I bring real-world experience from working as a medical assistant, EMT, researcher, and mentor. I understand how stressful and overwhelming competitive academic paths can feel, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing. Whether you're preparing for the MCAT, working through challenging science courses, studying for board exams, or looking for guidance on the path toward medicine, I'd be excited to help you reach your goals.

Outside of medicine and teaching, I enjoy fitness, baseball, sports performance training, and spending time outdoors. I played Division I college baseball and continue to stay involved in athletics through coaching and mentoring younger athletes. I’m also very interested in medical research, particularly in immunology, cardiology, and cancer biology. In my free time, I enjoy working out, exploring Miami’s food scene, spending time with friends and family, and continuing to learn through reading and research. I value discipline, consistency, and lifelong learning, and I try to bring those same qualities into my teaching style.
