- It took imagination, perseverance, and a profound respect for the role education plays in bolstering communities to teach in that setting.
- I've been able to apply those experiences to a fresh and exciting educational environment since moving to Texas.
About Me
More than just a shift in location, moving from Alaska to Texas signified a fresh dedication to professional development, flexibility, and service in my teaching career. In classrooms impacted by a variety of ethnic backgrounds, remote locations, and distinct student needs, I discovered the value of adaptability, community, and relationship-building in Alaska. Classrooms in Texas showcase a diverse range of cultures, viewpoints, and goals, and I am eager to contribute to this setting with the same commitment and flexibility that helped me in Alaska. Collaboration, data-driven education, and ongoing professional development are important to me, and I'm excited to share my talents from past experiences while learning from colleagues.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside the classroom, I embrace Alaska’s natural beauty and the sense of community it fosters. I enjoy hiking local trails, wildlife observation, and exploring the outdoors throughout all seasons, which often inspires hands-on and place-based learning experiences for my students. I value community involvement and enjoy participating in school events and local activities that strengthen relationships with families and colleagues. In quieter moments, I enjoy reading, lesson planning with creative flair, and continuing professional development to stay current with best teaching practices. Alaska’s unique environment continually fuels my curiosity, resilience, and passion for lifelong learning.
