About Me

As a Teaching Fellow at KIPP DC Wheeler Campus, I work daily with kindergarten and first-grade students, providing individualized reading interventions and progress monitoring for struggling learners. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Technology with a concentration in Network Infrastructure from Bowie State University, a Historically Black College and University where I developed both my technical expertise and my passion for education. My tutoring experience spans multiple grade levels and subjects. At KIPP, I specialize in early literacy intervention, working one-on-one with students who need additional support to build foundational reading skills. I also serve as an IT apprentice at my school, which has given me unique insight into how technology can enhance learning. This dual rolecombining education and technologyallows me to bring creative, tech-enhanced approaches to tutoring sessions. I tutor in mathematics (elementary through middle school), reading and literacy (K-8), computer literacy, and study skills. My favorite subjects to tutor are mathematics and reading because I love the "lightbulb moment" when a concept finally clicks for a student. There's something incredibly rewarding about breaking down a challenging problem into manageable steps and watching a student's confidence grow as they master it. My teaching philosophy centers on building authentic relationships and creating a safe space for students to take risks and make mistakes. I believe every student can succeed when given the right support, encouragement, and differentiated instruction tailored to their learning style. I'm patient, enthusiastic, and skilled at explaining concepts in multiple ways until they resonate. I also believe in making learning engagingincorporating games, real-world examples, and hands-on activities whenever possible to maintain student interest. Outside of tutoring and teaching, I'm a content creator with a combined following of over 175,000 across social media platforms, where I create content about personal growth and emotional wellness. I'm also an avid gamer and competitive Roblox tournament organizer, which helps me connect with students who share those interests. I'm passionate about anime, manga, and storytelling, and I love incorporating these interests into learning when appropriatewhether that's using anime characters to explain math concepts or discussing plot structure while working on reading comprehension. What sets me apart is my ability to meet students where they areboth academically and personally. I understand that struggling students often need more than just academic support; they need someone who believes in them, understands their frustrations, and can make learning feel achievable rather than overwhelming. My combination of formal teaching experience, technical skills, and genuine enthusiasm for helping students succeed makes me an effective and relatable tutor who can build strong rapport with students across different ages and learning needs.
