About Me
Hi! My name is Michaela, and I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2025 with a degree in Plan II Honors, a rigorous liberal arts program centered on critical reading, analytical writing, and independent research. I also minored in Economics and Russian language, areas that strengthened my quantitative reasoning as well as my attention to language, structure, and clarity. Through my academic workincluding study abroad and a senior thesis research projectI developed a deep appreciation for careful thinking, clear communication, and the learning process itself. I am especially passionate about helping students refine their writing, strengthen their critical thinking skills, and gain confidence in language acquisition. At present, I volunteer at a local middle school, assisting with the rollout of a Russian language club, which has reinforced my interest in working with students at different levels and meeting them where they are. Learning can be difficult and frustrating at times, and I strive to be emotionally attuned, patient, and encouraging while still holding students to high standards. I am committed to making education accessible, engaging, and empowering, and I enjoy helping students build not only academic skills but also confidence in their own abilities.
Hobbies & Interests
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy staying active and continuing to learn in a variety of ways. I am currently completing an online course in data analytics and am training to instruct Lagree, which reflects my interest in discipline, goal-setting, and clear communication. I enjoy spending time outdoors, strength training, and playing sand volleyball, as well as film photography and spending time with friends. These interests help me stay balanced, curious, and engaged—qualities I bring into my work with students.
