As a dedicated educator with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University, I bring over 2 years of experience in teaching and tutoring subjects such as Adult Literacy, College English, and Creative Writing. My background as an occupational therapist for 36 years has instilled in me a deep understanding of diverse learning styles, which I leverage to create personalized, engaging learning experiences for my students. I believe in fostering a supportive environment where students feel comfortable expressing their challenges, as I did with a struggling student who needed a physical textbook instead of digital resources. My passion for teaching stems from the impactful guidance I received in high school, and I strive to be that supportive figure for my students. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy writing and have published articles in both occupational therapy and massage therapy journals, further enhancing my communication skills.

I have several hobbies and interests: as for crafts and using my hands, I crochet and macrame, and I have dabbled in ceramics. I love music and I sang in choir from first grade to senior in high school. I used to play piano and saxophone, too. I love cooking and my favorite is baking: I make my own pie crusts and fresh bread from scratch. It's great to be active, so I exercise in our fitness center several times a week. Hiking and swimming, especially at the beach, are my favorites. I love to travel and learn about different cultures, and I attend church regularly and am on the prayer team.
