About Me

I hold a Master's degree in International Studies from the University of Denver. With experience teaching Japanese at a language school, as well as to colleagues and my own children, I am passionate about sharing the beauty and depth of the Japanese language and culture. My teaching approach is tailored to each student's level and goals, with a strong emphasis on understanding grammar and context. I pay close attention to linguistic nuances, including the proper use of keigo (honorific speech) and particles. I am currently attending a series of seminars on teaching Japanese to adult learners. My dedication to promoting Japanese culture is also reflected in my achievement in the ITO EN North America Haiku Competition, where I received the Silver Award. I look forward to helping students reach their language-learning goals.
