Starting with teaching government, history, and English at the high school and junior high school levels, I eventually migrated into computerized education. Using management skills acquired in graduate school, I helped set up and direct a number of computerized learning centers in at-risk neighborhoods throughout Hampton Roads, Virginia. That experience led me into the field of technical training, where I have taught programming, data analysis, database development, and Web development courses. My passion is helping students better understand difficult topics and making it possible for them to use newly acquired knowledge to solve real-life problems. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree from BJU (Greenville, SC) in Social Studies Education and a joint Master's degree in Public Policy and Business Administration from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, playing piano, reading, and writing code to develop new applications.
