Most recently, a new hire explained that he learned from me best because I help to make the subject matter applicable and relatable. It makes it easier for him to remember. I do have a full-time 7am-4pm job and with that I am only available outside of typically 'working hours'. In addition to my full time role I am also an adjunct instruct at 2 colleges.

I teach online animal science classes and in person Microbiology. Teaching others is something that brings me joy. I attended Kansas State University and have a BS and MS in Food Science. After K-State, I worked in the microbiology lab at Mars Petcare for 2 years before starting my PhD in Animal Science at Auburn University. In addition to my PhD, I received a Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching. I started my career in the pet food industry and worked at both Nestle Purina and Cargill before joining General Mills in 2021. I love developing new pet foods for your fur babies. Because nutrition is such a large part of pet food, I took advantage of the University of Illinois's Graduate Certificate in Companion Animal Nutrition. In my free time I enjoying tutoring students, cooking, and traveling.
