About Me

I am a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Economics. In high school, I worked in various tutoring roles: I was a math tutor to third-grade students for a year, a private math tutor to seventh-grade students for a year, and a piano tutor for two years. Additionally, I will be a Teach for America Ignite Fellow this semester, tutoring fifth-grade students in math. I am most passionate about math, piano, and reading comprehension. As a tutor, I have found success through tutoring my students with the "I Do, We Do, You Do" approach. Typically, I start by teaching the concept, I work on a problem with the student, and then I give the reins to the student to solve a problem. I believe teaching is vital and I believe it is especially vital to get to know and understand the student. I aspire to create a safe, fun learning environment for students where they feel they can best achieve success. I hope all my students feel like they are learning while also having fun in an environment where they feel comfortable.
