About Me

As an instructor, I believe every student needs someone in their cornersomeone who will guide them through challenges and celebrate their breakthroughs. I find joy in making lessons relatable and helping students grasp difficult concepts, they have struggled with in the past. With experience teaching and mentoring students from preschool to high school, I have worn many hats: etiquette instructor, preschool substitute, Girl Scout leader, and middle school volleyball coach. My background in Political Science and English from Spelman College has fueled my love for reading, writing, and staying engaged with current events. I see the world through words, which is why I specialize in tutoring English, reading comprehension, writing, creative writing, and public speaking. My teaching philosophy is one of partnership: I will support and guide you, but success comes from teamwork and effort. If you're willing to do the work, I'll be there every step of the way. Outside of academia, I enjoy baking and cake decorating, cooking, traveling, and writing. I also founded a book club that proudly celebrates its 25th anniversary this yeara testament to my lifelong love for literature and discussion. Let's make learning meaningful and engaging together!
