My teaching (and tutoring!) philosophy is that students will learn best when they are confident in their ability to grow academically, and comfortable to ask questions or admit when they need help. I believe it is a teacher's responsibility to create a safe, calm, and student-oriented learning environment that is not rushed, angry, or impatient. I believe I am a top candidate as a tutor because I have a M. Ed. in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology, and 7 years of classroom experience. I understand that scheduled time with a student is not to be wasted, or rushed. I do not believe in taking phone calls, texts, doodling, reading, etc. when working with a student. I am an experienced professional that loves her job, and I understand how important it is to the student and their families, that I do my job properly and effectively. If there is ever anything that I am unsure of, I will be truthful and say that I don't know, instead of providing students with the wrong information. Consistency, patience, communication, professionalism, and encouragement are what I look forward to offer as a tutor!
