About Me

I graduated summa cum laude with a Master's in Classics (a combination of history, reading comprehension and writing) from Florida State University and this degree and associated experiences has provided me with a diverse set of knowledge and skillsets. While there I developed a firm understanding of the power of education to transform individuals and help every student to grow toward their greatest potential. Though every tutoring session varies, a session may include the review of previous content, a discussion of how to improve a written essay, the proper methods to prepare for an upcoming assessment, among many other possible forms designed around individual student need. In my approach to tutoring, I utilize a Classical Education approach, which deems the goal of education to be holistic or that students improve as people while they improve their content knowledge and skillsets. I design lessons to help students improve their content knowledge while also improving their self-confidence, personal responsibility and overall positive sense of self. The long term goal is help students become self-sufficient as we grow and improve their academic knowledge. I have 5 years' experience teaching english and history classes, both in Middle and High School (6th, 9th, 10th and 12th grade).
