About Me
I am enrolled in Florida International University to obtain my Graduate Certification in Communication Sciences and Disorders, and I graduated with my B.A. from FIU in 2020. I am hoping to begin the M.S. of Speech-Language Pathology at FIU next year. I have always been about helping others and seeing them succeed, so I find tutoring and teaching to be extremely rewarding. On the side, I like to participate in research to attempt to discover new methods of helping others, such as discovering new forms of communication for those who cannot speak. I am currently a Pre-K ESE teacher in my county, and my first year teaching I did first grade math, science, and social studies. In middle and high school, I tutored a lot of students varying from 6-12th grade, so I have had my fair share of experience amongst a variety of age groups. I personally believe that learning begins once the barrier of fear and stress dissipates from the learners mind, so I aim to always maintain a safe and fun learning environment. I try to accommodate to each learner that I encounter in order to match their learning styles and find different real-life applications to concepts. I am able to tutor English, English writing, reading, math, and beginner to intermediate level Spanish. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and language because I see them both as a game; once you know how to solve it, you can fit the pieces together, rinse, and repeat!
Hobbies & Interests
I love to play live music, read books, play Sudoku, go to the gym, and play video games.
