Along with my elementary education teaching certificate, I hold endorsements in teaching K-8 reading, K-8 English/language arts, and K-8 social studies. Prior to receiving my teaching degree, I was a special education paraeducator. In this role, I worked 1:1 with students who had academic and behavior IEPs. My sole purpose for getting my teaching certification is to provide equitable academic experiences for all students so they may be confident and successful in their learning. One of my favorite things to teach is reading because it was something I struggled with as an elementary student. I now enjoy helping students learn the skills they need to prosper in their academic experience and develop a hunger for learning.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy yoga and cycling, reading on my deck, eating at my favorite restaurants, attending local sporting events, and spending time with my husband and two daughters.
