About Me

I am a graduate of the University of Virginia with a Master's of Science Teaching. I also graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's of Science in the field of Wildlife Science. I have been a professional teacher for the past seven years. Though I have experience teaching science to students from all grade levels, my primary work has been with high-school students. I have taught in the United States, Italy and South Korea and have experience teaching in multiple curriculums including Virginia Standards of Learning, NGSS, IGCSE, IB and AP. In my experience helping students prepare and pass standardized tests, I have had great success preparing students for rigorous AP and IB science assessments. My passion in teaching is to help build scientific literacy and a love of learning for all students. Though I am qualified to tutor for many subjects, my favorite is environmental science as I believe that environmental literacy is of the utmost importance for students of all ages. My personal hobbies reflect my love of environmental science as I always enjoy being outside and volunteering for local environmental groups. I also enjoy reading and painting in my down time.
