About Me

If you need help over the summer to keep your reading and writing skills sharp, I am here to help you. "The Summer Slide" is a real thing. Students forget concept they've learned through out the school year during the summer I am a mom. My children just finished elementary school. Their education and the difficulties they have had inspired me to tutor them from kindergarten through the present. Now, I want to help other students to not only improve their grades but also develop a life long love of learning. Every child has an "ah ha" moment when he or she or they understand a concept. I love that moment of discovery and boost in self-esteem. If your are in Elementary School, I can tutor you in Language Arts, Reading and Math. For those in 6-12th grade, I am great resource for Language Arts including grammar, essay writing, term papers, creative writing, speech writing and performing, literary critiques. I can also show you effective ways to study and how to prepare for tests. Did you know that test taking is a skill? I can show you how to answer those tricky multiple choice or true/ false questions. Teachers often want short essay responses on test too. I can help you tackle those as well. I am working toward my professional teaching certificate. I am currently qualified to teach 6-12 grade Social Studies by the Florida Board of Teacher Certification. I earned a B.A. in Psychology from New College of Florida, and I have completed graduate course work in Counselor Education. Learning is more than memorization of facts and figures. My goal is to help students sharpen their critical thinking skills so that they can have the tools they need to make he most out of their education and their professional careers.
