My education in pedagogy (ways of teaching) includes my 120-hour TEFL (Teach English as a Foreign Language) certificate, graduate classes in pedagogy, two papers on pedagogy presented at national conferences, my secondary teaching certification program, and passing the Arizona state exams for English Language Arts and Professional Knowledge. My graduate courses provided the opportunity for rigorous insight into research methods and literature artifacts. My secondary teaching program further developed my lesson planning skills with a focus on the various differentiations required to accommodate all students in a classroom. Finally, studying for the state English Language Arts exam allowed me to dive more deeply into literature analysis, the metrics of poetry, and the histories that inform these works. My education is complemented by my teaching experiences. In my various teaching appointments, I have taught K-12 and post-secondary students. I have taught in the United States and abroad. I have taught as the lead teacher and as a substitute teacher. I have taught in English Language Arts, Elementary, Health, Spanish, Social Studies, History, Communication, Speech, and Creative Writing classrooms. My broad array of teaching experiences required that I develop adaptive lesson planning in order to meet the ever-changing needs of my varied students and subjects. As a lead teacher, I am dedicated to meeting students at their current place of learning and helping them develop and grow in ways they can see and evaluate. As a tutor I am dedicated to helping students develop a sense of agency in their learning and helping them achieve the goals they set for themselves while also giving them the feedback they need for self-evaluation. I am deeply passionate about the art of teaching. I would be honored to work with you on your learning journey!

My interests and hobbies include: Reading, Writing, Hiking, Biking, Horse Riding, Yoga, Pilates, Paddle-boarding, Travel, and Learning Languages.
