About Me

I love to learn new things and try to pass on my love of learning to my students. I received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a Masters of Public Health. I also completed a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification program. I have taught English as a Second Language (ESL) as well as many types of health education. I especially enjoy teaching English and English as a Second Language. My students have been both children and adults from very different cultures and backgrounds. I taught immigrants and Native Americans in California and local villagers in rural African communities. Nothing makes me smile more than seeing a student making progress and gaining confidence in their abilities. My teaching approach is interactive and my goal is to have fun while learning. I incorporate activities that encompass different learning styles and are relevant to the student. I believe education helps us grow and develop and is key to a better quality of life. When I am not teaching, I practice yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi. I also love dogs and enjoy hiking with my dogs.
