About Me

I just graduated from Virginia Tech with my Master's in Elementary Education, and I completed my undergraduate degree with a Bachelor's in Professional and Technical Writing, also at Virginia Tech. I am very passionate about learning and helping students grow, and I have an abundance of experience working in the classroom and with students in various subjects. Some of the subjects I am available to tutor include English, reading, writing, elementary math, elementary science, and elementary social studies, among others. My undergrad degree in technical writing has given me a lot of experience with different types of writing and literature as well. My teaching philosophy centers around creating a welcoming and comfortable learning environment where students feel encouraged to try and are not afraid to make mistakes. I want to foster a growth mindset in all students and help them develop their skills and knowledge. Outside of teaching, I have lots of experience working with children of all ages as a head diving coach for a summer pool for several years, as well as experience nannying and working with children with disabilities.
