About Me

I am an independent contractor specializing in all aspects of human resources in the nonprofit and small business arena. Most recently, I retired as Chief Human Resources Officer at a human services nonprofit organization. Previously, I spent more than two decades providing HR guidance to some of the Philadelphia region's most preeminent nonprofit organizations. My expertise covers such areas as performance management, leadership development, HR policies, employee relations, diversity, staff coaching and mentoring, consensus building, change management strategic total rewards and organizational development. I earned a BS at Cornell, an MSW at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA at Drexel University. Additionally I am a certified HR professional with the SPHR and SHRM-SCP designations and serve as the VP of Legislative Affairs for the Southeastern PA Society of Human Resource Management chapter. I have taught the HRCI and now the SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preparatory course through Villanova University since 2006. I also teach Introduction to HR in the Villanova undergraduate program, Fundamentals of HR in the certificate program and various HR courses through the LaSalle University Nonprofit Center. To say I am passionate about HR, is putting it mildly. I am committed to advancing the profession and love working with HR professionals to help them attain their certifications. Having taken both levels of the Certification Exams and achieving scores in the top 1%, in combination with my experience, I am well suited to provide the guidance necessary to to achieve success in the HR Certification Exams.
