I am passionate about helping students with the Spanish language because I believe that learning a new language opens up a world of possibilities and opportunities for personal and professional growth. I find joy in sharing my knowledge and love for the Spanish language with others, and seeing my students progress and succeed brings me great satisfaction. My goal is to make learning Spanish fun, engaging, and relevant to each student's interests and goals. I received my education in Spanish language and literature from StonyBrook University, where I obtained a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Literature and Language. I received my Master's degree in Education, with a focus on language teaching and learning from Hofstra University. I am a middle school/ high school Spanish teacher for 28 years. I taught for 15 years at the University Level. I tutor a variety of subjects related to the Spanish language, including grammar, writing, speaking, listening, and culture. I also offer test preparation for exams such as the AP Spanish Exam, the NYS FLACS A & B Exams. My favorite subject to tutor is conversation practice, as I believe that speaking and listening are essential skills for language acquisition. I enjoy helping students build confidence in their speaking abilities and encouraging them to express themselves in Spanish. My teaching philosophy is centered around creating a supportive and interactive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and making mistakes. I believe in personalized instruction that caters to each student's individual needs and learning style. My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and adaptive, and I strive to make learning Spanish enjoyable and rewarding for my students. Outside of academia, I enjoy traveling, exploring new cultures, trying new foods, and spending time with my family. I also have a passion for music, art, and literature, which I believe enriches my understanding and appreciation of the Spanish language and culture.
