I love American History and Literature and have spent my adult life reading and writing about them. Having traveled from coast to coast across the U.S. pursuing my education, I've experienced much of what this nation offers. I earned my B.A. in English at Pacific University outside of Portland, Oregon; my M.A. in American Literature at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas; and my Ph.D. in English and American Literature at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina. Sharing my love of stories, language, literature, and history is a driving force in my life.

Reading fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and plays are my most important interests/hobbies. However, I also enjoy just going outdoors and walking in the mountains and the beach, along rivers and lakes, and in both warm and cold locations.
