- Learning should be enjoyable and accessible to everyone.
- I understand though that classes can move faster than our individual pace.
About Me
It's easy to get lost or feel like you will never catch up. Personally, I have come to believe that knowledge is available to everyone, given the right opportunity and timing. I have been working as a Montessori teacher for seven years. I completed my training at MIRTC in Girona in 2018. This training prepared me to assist learners with their individual needs. Montessori is all about observation and response. A lesson is based on a student's ability and experience. In the past, I worked with 3-6 year old children for four years as a lead guide (aka teacher in Montessori). One of the most enjoyable things about this experience was watching the children develop confidence and independence. On a good day, the children could practice their work as shown while the teachers hang back to observe their progress. Seeing young children jump into reading at four years old is such a joy. In Morocco, I was lead teacher in a classroom of 6-9 students. This was a completely different experience, with the added challenge of a language barrier. Many children were only beginning English speakers, while the classroom was meant to function in English. With the help of a great assistant, the group really group up over our two years together. On this platform, I expect to tutor in various areas of mathematics. I would enjoy helping others in beginning reading skills or English as a foreign language.
Hobbies & Interests
In my free time I study foreign languages, currently Polish, Japanese, and Chinese. I'm avid reader of history and fiction, and enjoy listening to music. To clear my mind, I frequently take long walks.
