I am passionate about working with students and empowering them to do their best while enjoying learning. I believe in interactive and fast paced lessons. I will meet the student at their learning level and work with them to rapidly increase their reading and writing levels. I have both education and psychology degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. While teaching with with Dallas Independent School District, I became a Legacy Master Reading Teacher. At my home campus, I was tasked with training other teachers on my campus how to teach remedial reading and writing. I am well versed in proven strategies for helping students with learning disabilities and/or life challenges to increase their reading and writing skills with targeted instruction. My goal is to create lifelong learners who love to learn, read, and write. I will quickly determine student interests, strengths, and growth areas and use that knowledge to create interactive and meaningful lessons that will engage the learner and use every moment of the lesson to increase success.

I love to read and am always working on a personal reading goal. This year, my goal is to read 65 books. I also love to write and do so daily. I have two rescue dogs who are very sweet and cuddly and I enjoy taking them on walks.
