My career in education began with a heartfelt commitment to special education, where I learned the profound impact of tailored teaching and the importance of meeting each student at their level. This early experience shaped my approach to education, emphasizing the need for understanding and adapting to the unique learning styles and challenges of each student. In my seven years of educational experience, I have dedicated myself to math and reading intervention, employing science-based metrics to assess and enhance student learning. This journey started in Fayette County Public Schools, where I worked closely with students who needed extra support, and has continued through my various roles, including as an intervention instructor and a classroom teacher. My approach to tutoring is deeply rooted in data-driven strategies. I utilize evidence-based methods to track progress and adjust teaching techniques, ensuring that each session is not just informative but transformative. This scientific approach to learning, combined with my passion for special education, enables me to create a learning environment where every student can thrive. Holding a Bachelor's Degree in Arts with minors in History, Learning and Developmental Disabilities, and Curriculum Design from Simon Fraser University, I've always believed in the power of a well-rounded education.
